Updating Old Secondhand Sky Box

I got a secondhand sky box from someone yesterday(thanks to jumbletown.ie), but it's missing some channels eg Film Four and a few others. It says on screen 'no signal is being received' even though on my FTA box all the channels are fine. The Sky Box had not been in use by the person who gave it to me for a while, so I presume the missing channels had changed PIDs in the meantime and that is why they can't be found. How could I rescan these channels on this box(using a Universal Remote) to update them?

    Thanks

You don't need to rescan the box to receive the missing channels but as it has been unused for a while you may want to try updating its system software which may help.

    You can do this by

    1. Remove the power lead for two mins
    2. Locate and press the backup button on the front of the sky box
    3. Whilst still holding the backup button put in the power lead

After a few seconds a message will appear on screen telling you its updating you can now let go of the backup button
