    Bought a phone off ebay se w850i ! tried turning it on and its asking for a phone unlock code. tried default 0000 and 1234 nothing. Phone has a 3 symbol so I ring up 3 customer services, I then spend half an hour on phone giving details. She then tells me that the phone doesnt have an unlock code ? Send it in for repairs ... basically she was clueless ?

    So what now ... I just have a broken phone !!!!!!

    90 quid down the drain

    pretty sure you can get these unlocked in any shop that does phone unlocking. will cost you €20/30. auction on ebay should have stated the network the phone was simlocked to...

    Stupid question but have you contacted the seller to get the Simlock code off of them? Be careful though with guessing the code as if you enter it incorrectly too many times in a row (3 I think), it may then need a PUK code to unlock the phone.

    the puk code is something separate. OP, just don't enter the code anymore unless its definitely the right one

    To clarify,

    If you enter the incorrect code 5 times the phone will need to be cable unlocked.

    The network will only provide the correct unlock code to the registered owner (which you are not).

    Going to a shop to unlock may be your only option on this one.

    I know that. THAT is why I said not to key the incorrect code too many times so the OP wouldn't NEED to obtain the PUK code or similar for the phone aswell.

    the puk code is needed if you enter your sim pin in wrong three times. It has nothing to do with the phone. It unlocks your sim

    if you enter an unlock code too many times, hardware is needed to unlock it. There is no puk code or any equivalent

    @walkman, a 3 ireland sim won't work in a 3 uk phone
