Hello ,this is another crappy vista sound issue query:rolleyes:

Basically I have a dimension E520 with onboard sigmatel sound. The machine has vista premium running.

The sound card worked originally ,but I wasn't totally happy with the sound. I bought a couple of cards and none seemed to work. So I bought an Xmod ,external usb audio device. Everything has been fine since.

Lately I need another output to feed a TV that I'm connecting to the pc. So I am now trying to revert back to the onboard sound.
It's not working ,according to vista it doesn't exist. I've updated the chipset drivers but the sigmatel drivers won't load ,they keep telling me I don't have the right audio device for the drivers.
The sound is listed as a PCI device ,unknown. When I uninstall it and reinstall it ,it is showing as a HD audio device ,but then lists itself back as unkown pci. But it says it is unaccessible.

Will I just forget about this ,stick with a phono splitter ?
