Dual display problem

So, yesterday I hooked a nice 19" monitor up to my MacBook Pro, and everything worked fine. However, today, about an hour after I started work using them, the colour suddenly went completely blue tinged on the monitor, with no forewarning or explanation. It's nothing in the monitor settings, and I can't find anything that changed in the Mac's settings. Anyone have any ideas? It was working absolutely perfectly two hours ago, and a restart didn't fix it (of both the laptop or the monitor).

    1) Is the physical connection Ok.
    2) Does the monitor work ok on another machine? (PC or Mac)

Okay, to update, not had the chance to test the monitor with another input yet, but turned it on tonight and now everything is green tinged rather than blue. Very strongly green tinged actually. Basically like looking through night vison goggles. This is bizarre! Near as I can tell, the physical connection is fine. No breaks in the leads or anything like that.
