    howeya mate,

i'm only back from vegas and went dublin - atlanta ... atlanta - vegas

took 8 hours to atlanta wait there for 4 hours then 4 hour flight to vegas

next time I go i'm going to london first then direct to vegas it works out your in the sky for an extra hour but your not waiting as long in between airports and also the officials in atlanta were ignorant w&nkers

where are you staying over there...its amazing

Dublin to LA direct (no shannon stop), LA to Vegas.
I did the Dub-Shan-Chicago-LV and it's ****ing awful.

yep Dublin to LA and if its mid week and you want a 3.5 hr drive, hire a car and drive to Vegas, just dont do it on a Friday. Took me 8 hours the last time after a 11 hour flight. Car hire is cheap in the states too and if there's a group it makes it really good value and you can do some site seeing around Vegas with the motor.

its only about $80 for a return flight from LA to Vegas, takes 45 minutes and usually a flight every hour to Vegas from LA

Another bonus is the customs in Dublin Airport, cuts out all the waiting at the other side.

Dub-LA-Vegas or Dub - Gatwick/Manchester - Vegas are probably much of a muchness tbh, and the only difference being what the best price is. Make sure you leave plenty of time for transferring between terminals etc in some of these airports.

I've done Dublin-LA-Vegas and Dublin-London-Vegas and i'd recommend both. If you're a poker player, you could try an evening spin to London, head to one the casinos for an all nighter and make your way to the airport next morning. After being awake for 24-36 hours, you should sleep the whole way to Vegas. Great in theory, pretty sh1te in practice if like me, you're well used to 24 hour sessions!

Thanks for the help guys. I might do the dublin LA Vegas. Hotels aren't that bad in price from what I see on the net. Any one got any No No's before I book?

Book a centre strip hotel as some of the offstrip or downtown ones can cost you a fair bit in taxis or monorail anyhow despite being cheaper. Also, the strip is longer than it looks........

I'd definitely advise Dublin - USA city - Vegas rather than UK city.

    1. You pre-clear emigration in Dublin
    2. You pre-clear customs in Dublin (not sure if this has started yet)
    3. UK airport taxes are V. high.

On the subject of hotels...my friend was in the Rio during WSOP '06 and was paying I think $89 a night...I looked it up for next June and it's twice that!....Anyone know why?
