    Fight, fight, fight, fight, etc.

A link to the full timetable would be useful for this thread.

    Oh, Look. there they are.

Is 1h35 out 1h35 ret really an appealing service for Wexford-Waterford though? Even with the lousy traffic in Waterford you would still get there alot quicker by car or bus.

Absolutely, and the traffic problems on the northside of Waterford will be relieved by the new bridge and bypass - opening 2009 apparently. Further down the line, New Ross's problems will also be alleviated by a new bridge that's planned to cross the Barrow near Glenmore. Would 45 minutes from Wexford town to somewhere like Genzyme in Waterford be too good to hope for? I don't think so.

We're doing a lot for road transport in this country, but the government don't really seem to be serious about rail. Even in Dublin, where commuter rail makes a lot of sense, progress appears to be painfully slow.

And where's the connectivity with buses. Fair enough, from Plunkett Station into Waterford city centre is a fairly easy walk (except in the wind and rain), but what if you have to get to the IDA industrial park or WIT? You've to walk into town for a bus. The only bus that serves Ferrybank and the station is the Kenneally's one that goes to Ardkeen and Ballygunner, but its schedule is among the great works of fiction because it takes no account of the traffic going through Ferrybank and Ardkeen, the two worst places in Waterford for traffic... I could rant on for hours in this vein... Greens, you won't be separating me from my car for quite a while!

In fairness to him, he got one time out by all of 5 minutes. Some slack to Chamar, please.

his/her original post did not include the timetable information, just presumed that the service would not stop at wexford. the timetable information was edited in after i had provided it. i'll get off my high horse now ;)

    Chill out.

The service at the moment is only really suitable for those in south west Wexford, who have the car ferry abvailable to them anyway. There is a signalling programme for the line next year, that will hopefully improve things for south east Wexford

Oh for heaven's sake, I was in the middle of getting the required info when you posted but you beat me to it by 3 mintues - probably because I had the good grace to try and amend the timetable and not ruin the thread but doing your copy/paste job (btw can you fix?)... .........please stop causing aggro there's no need for it.
