Aldis latest deal, starts Sunday. Thinking of purchasing this. Anybody know what the quality is like / anybody purchased before?

A HD screen contains more pixels which allows you to see every blade of grass, every thread, every feather in crystal clear clarity.

For an extra €70 I'd buy the 32" Toshiba on Komplett.

The brother bought the last 42" they had. Has a dead pixel, which is "acceptable, 2 is repairable"-according to Aldi...

No mention of a warranty, let alone a 3 year warranty

Most Aldi electronic stuff has 3 years warranty.

I need to pick up a cheapo HD 32" as a present. 500 or so is the budget, won't stretch the extra hundred or so for a brand name (have 2 myself, one no-namer, one big brand, cannot tell the difference, despite the 300% price difference, thats not to say there isn't one, just for my purposes the benefits are not there).

So anyway, if that 37" Bush in Argos comes down from 10k to 499 ! Then that seems like a good deal, otherwise this deal from Aldi, or the Xtravision Mirai are the main contenders I reckon. People are saying there are better deals... where would I find them ? (For strictly under 550 euro). Anyone know if that Xtravision telly is any good ?

You can get a 32" lcd in argos for 500.Its argos' own brand but i've bought argos' own stuff before and they seemed very well built. As for the aldi tv mentioned above, all aldis stuff was originally designed for the german market so it dhould be o.k. Also try out pixmania.ie . They have 2 32@ lcds for under 500

Just wondered if anyone managed to get the Freeview tuner to receive the Irish DTT trials on this TV? I can't seem to manage it. I know that many UK Freeview compatible tuners need to have a 'Scan Encrypted Channels' option selected for the Irish channels to be received, but this does not have such an option. Even the FTA channels in the Irish Trial seem to show up as 'encrypted'. Nor does it have a Country option where 'Ireland' could be selected.

    Thanks.
