    Guys,
Looking to pick up pink DS+3 games and xbox360 +2 games at the best prices.
I've looked at the offers available and wonder are the likes of smyths negotiable on offers.
The Xbox360 is for my daughter so she wants viva pinata +another(maybe simpsons). The current offer is 399 for xbox360+3 games in Smyths. Would they sell at that price for the two games listed? To me it would still be a good price. I will go in to them later and chance it but I'm sure others have had some experience of haggling a deal.
I thought getting the two systems at the one time would give me a little more leverage also.

Over 10 years ago was the last time I haggled over something probably in 94 ... talk to a senior person / manager / owner if you can ... as your basic staff won't have the go ahead to make any deals. At the time I got a few quid off, I think a lot has changed in recent times though so maybe they'll just say no. I don't think this is a bargain alert either so you may want to move it but to where I'm not sure

I don't know about Smyths but in Xtravision I was able to haggle different games from the offer ones - and they gave me about €30 off the offer because the games I wanted were older.

It will depend on who you deal with wherever you go. Hang on to talk to someone senior.

Possibly with management/supervisors etc. but don't bother trying with floor staff as they're not able to give discounts in the majority of large retail outlets.

Her-in-doors works in a large retail store and the amount of people who ask for a discount and she just says sorry so I cant. The day of haggling on smaller items is long gone :(

Plus that fact that the pink DS are hard to come by I doubt you would get anything off it.

    Thanks for replies.
I suppose I wasn't looking so much for a discount but looking to find the offer that would best suit my needs.
For instance, my lad wanted a PS3, R&C and Lego star wars for xmas.Lo and behold that offer was available up to last week in Smyths. So that worked out well for me.
I spent some time going around town(Dublin) yesterday looking at the offers.
Gamestop seem to have the offers closest to what I want.
    XBOX360+any game(I'll choose viva pinata)+Blue Dragon for 399.
DS+any game(I'll go for nintendo dogs) + TMNT or horsey game + acc pack for 219. With another game(purr pals), that will be about 264.

You should of course ask, but the answer is usually no.

The reason is that the really good packs are usually put together by the console manufactures and the shops have no flexibility with this (e.g. Xbox 360 COD4 pack + Halo 3, or 60GB PS3 + 2 games).

When the shops do add a game to a pack themselves, it is usually a game that the publisher sent them loads of copies of, but isn't selling, so the shop are just getting rid of stock (e.g. Blue Dragon).
