    Hi Guys,
I have recently got the Sky free to view box installed, however the box failed and I had to have the box replaced. My question is how one brings up the installation menu on this basic sky remote. This remote does not have the ability to record.I tried accessing the relevant info. from the sky digibox manual on the sky website.I wish to change my relay channel. The lad who installed it said I had to input 001 and then press select?I would appreciate anybody's help.As I said it is the basic sky remote,i.e. not the remote for recording or pay to view.
    Ta,

    Installer Menu
    press services 4 0 1 select

AFAIK there is only two variants of Sky remote for an ordinary Sky Box:
Standard OR Flip open with QWERTY keypad.
Either can be used for all functions, including pay per view and NOT recording.

Pay per view needs a subscription card and a phone line.

Sky+ and SkyHD have a Hard Disk Drive, and thus recording functions. So the remote (not sure if they use same remote) has record, play, pause etc.

There is no such thing as a Sky "Free to view" or Sky Free To Air box.

:: Any Sky box is "Free To Air" only without a viewing card.
:: Any Sky box is "Free to View" if you insert a "Freesat-from Sky" card (Once off £21 charge and only sent to UK/NI post code addresses)
:: Any Sky box is pay per view if it has a subscription card and a phone line.
:: A UK/NI subscription includes the handfull of FTV (Free To View) channels, an Irish Republic subscription card does not.
    :: An NI subscription includes RTE1, RTE2 and TG4 but not TV3
:: The Sky HD/Sky+ recording/play functions are disabled without a subsciption.

In every case the Sky Digibox box and remote is the same. It's the card/phoneline or lack that decides which channels you receive.

Only the models with a Hard Disk Drive can record.
I wish to change my relay channel.
I'm assuming you mean RF Channel

    Press
    Services, 4, 0, 1, Select

Note: You don't see any menu appear or change when you press 0 then 1

    Dear Watty,
Ta for all your help but I still do not know what I am doing wrong.I selected the services menu.pressed 4 and got the system setup, tried valiantly to press 0 but this does not seem to select anything and thus I was unable to proceed to press 1.The system setup lists from 1-8 ie picture settings, sound settings, language and subtitles, add channels, system details, signal test, system test, system healthcheck.Forgive my stupidity.
