MA Advice Please

    Hey there,

This is my first post on this forum so I'm hoping to get some good advice. I've tried a few different Martial Arts. So far, I'm loving Muay Thai but I don't want to fightcompetitively. What I'm looking for is a gym in Dublin where I can train in Muay Thai in as intense a way as possible but without having to commit to getting in the ring.

I'm not looking for a jazzed up "boxercise" class but for a proper fighthing gym experience but without the "fight at the end of the tunnell". If anyone has any recommendations or advice I'd really appreciate it. I should mention that I've been training in MT for a few years and absolutely love it.

I have no problem with the getting hit bit or the intensity of the training; I just don't want to fight.

    Any suggestions?

You say you're enjoying your MT currently but don't want to fight so you want to find a new club. Is your current club forcing you to fight? Or making the fact you haven't had a bout awkward for you?

Have a chat to Paddy Clint, he's a great MT instructor, and a sound guy.

Here's the link to his website:http://www.chupasart.com/

Im a bit confused by your post, what gym do you train in?, if its Bridgestone then there is something amiss with this picture because I doubt Paul Kelly would pressure you to fight in fact I know he wouldnt, so perhaps you can clear this up.

No way Paul would pressure anyone to fight. Not in a million years. It's just not in his nature. Must be another club.

edit: I just re-read that first post. The poster doesn't actually imply that s/he's being pressured to fight. Only that s/he doesn't want to be. The previous MT experience could be outside Ireland.

OP: Head down to bridgestone if you're near the city centre. Fighters class is 8.15 - 10 Monday to Thursday, 6.30 - 8.30 on Friday and 3-5 on Saturday. There's also Warriors in Bray or Chupasart is in Rathcoole (near tallaght). Nobody's gonna pressure you to fight. In bridgestone you need to put your name forward if you're interested. I'd assume it's the same elsewhere.
