TV works better on the TV :)

    There are differnet options:
1/ Web TV. Lots of choice, poor quality and needs broadband. Eats your cap/allowance if you have one.

2/Terrestrial TV tuner card. Some do Digital only (no use in Limerick) and some Analogue only or Analogue & Digital (fine for Limerick)

3/Satellite Tuner card. Connects to LNB on dish.

There are also USB adaptors but they are poor compared with PCI card inside PC. There are a few PCMCIA cards for laptops too.

A TV out card is nothing to do with watching TV on PC, it's for playing PC games, DVDs or presentations / photos on your ordinary TV set rather than computer screen.

my advice would be to get someone to install the pci card for you if this is the route you decide to take. this will involve some setup, and a knowledge of pcs is desirable to prevent damage to your pc.

i have a pci tuner in my pc, and to be honest rarely use it, the quality just isn't the same as a tv.
