TCD Labour meet every wed at 6, room three in the atrium! ;)

Best place probably is coppers it's the well known forum for finding a person with lungs and other animate objects....
21, Redz, Rio, Craw-Daddy..pretty much any place with loud music and dancing would be amenable to a girl on a search.

I, coming from a man's perspective, would have always imagined that girls would find it easier to pick up a guy, no?...

If your looking for relationship though your probably best tog t involved in one or two societies and meet people through chat not music, drink and dance.

If you're just looking to be messed about and sexually un-for filled I'm your man.

If you're any way sporty or fancy getting fit, then try out boxing. The first hour is non-contact and most people leave after that. There's always a big crowd, pretty much 50-50 guys and girls and there's plenty of 1-on-1 exercise so it's nice and easy to chat to someone.

If you're interested it's on in the Ancillary hall in the sports centre (first floor outside the changing rooms) every Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 5pm.

    fine...im sorry.

ok, personally i would avoid anyone in my class (people will disagree with me on this), the logic is your in first year, you dont want to be looking at some muppet you dumped for the next 4 years.

societies work, just dont try too girly a society....eg dance(its great fun,but full of girls).

or just give it time....make some friends in your course and see who you get introduced to. im sure your friends have plenty of hot friends. everyone in trinity knows everyone else through someone.....your friends will introduce you to loads of sound people on nights out.
dont rush it.....you're girl in the hamilton...the ratio there is slightly in you favour ;)

Economics students recommend societies, clubs, lectures, tutorials, board games parties and Copperface Jack's.

Yeah The Pav probably, Societies are def a good one too, just depends on which one...

Engineers are easy. PM and I'll prove it.

Or go to one of the different class parties

The pav is good for eye-candy(ing), terrible place to meet people though. It's just not conducive to talking to new people. Socs are much better, or wherever you go after the pav.

Well, I'm in a computer lab in the hamilton right now. I can count 9 people in this room, including myself. Five are female (including myself). The ratio seems to be in our favour. I think the guys are starting to shrink towards the engineering/math types of courses, whereas us femmes gravitate towards therapeutic/human type sciences.

Wear a tshirt that says 'I'm single and bored'

If that doesn't work, take off the tshirt.

    Either way - RESULT!

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 128 ✭✭Deadevil129

The ratio in Science may be 50/50 but when you look at how the course is split up you'll get most of the girls heading into Biology, then in physics they'ld only make up a quarter of the lectures, if even.

I'm kinda for the a guy in your course just being a terribly bad idea. Eh crash BESS class parties- there tend to be lots of pretty (and yes for BESS it's pretty not handsome) guys though watch out for the gay factor. Or get your class reps to hold BESS/Science/Engineering class parties.

A good place for guy hunting is UCD- there are more and less gay ones. I swear the architecture just puts women in this college at such a disadvantage- also the breakdown of girls to guys in Trinity is about 60:40. And UCD guys are hotter.*

Societies can be good- the exercise eg sporting activities for meeting boys always scares the crap out of me. I mean you totally don't need to know that that bit wobbles until absolutely necessary. Though this may be due to my general aversion to sports.

Trips away are a good way to meet guys, or as your very last resort you could come along to a tcd boards beers.:D There are always more guys, in fact on average there are about two girls there despite the fact that several more than that post here.

*though of course not more so than ilovemybrick

Yes and no. Depends on if you want a random score or a relationship. in first year, i would NOT recommend it. (this is from someone who's being going out with a girl in his class for nine months, by the way). Its an iffy issue, and as a fresher i'd stay well clear.

    And UCD guys are hotter.*

There's (at a quick estimate) about 2,500 guys down the hamilton end, we don't all do the same course. No need to wander so far afield.

Yeah, actually, meant to call you up on the before actually, dangerous position to be taking given that all of us are TCD guys, and many of us know you to hunt you down in person. Sleep with one eye open in Econometrics tomorrow...

Having worked at UCD for two years in a row now UCD just appears to attract more athletic, tanned fit, possibly air head types, nothing of course to match the intellectual splendor of Trinity guys (or as the west wing put it smart and funny) but on the surface objectively hotter.

You'll most likely be running off to a debate before our lecture, as such I'll take my chances.

I have a couple of questions.

How do we know it's not that you're ridiculously attractive to hot UCD guys for the vast number of reasons that might be the case? Also, haven't you described your job in UCD as "flirting"? That might attract flirty guys.

I have no idea where that's going. My head hurts, and I'm tired. I'm not arguing, by the way. And, yes, ilovemybrick is sex on legs.

As a broad stereotype, having attended both colleges, there's much more Blackrock types and non Dublin people in UCD but much more Northsiders and foreign students in Trinity.

Serious question: Do women who talk about all the ideal qualities they want in a man, stop and ask themselves if they deserve a man like that?

Just to clarify, my above post was a joke and one that pretty much answers your question. Although I do think people get whomsoever they 'deserve'... birds of a feather flock together and all that. I'm not going to end up with a party-hearty guy and someone who's all about one night stands with model type girls won't end up with me. It's all about finding a nice compromise amongst the many normal, kind people out there.
Although I wouldn't say no to curly hair, should it be offered. :)
