I sold a wii on ebay yesterday evening and the winner has yet to pay. I emailed them earlier and they have yet to reply, they bid near the end of the auction so surely they would pay quickly if they really wanted it seeing as their's huge demand for the wii atm. I also send them the invoice soon after the auction ended They have 0 feedback yet registered in 2005. I'll be shocked if they pay now even though its only 24 hrs since the auction ended. I need the money to buy PC parts so want it sold asap, can i offer it to 2nd highest bidder/relist or do I have to wait a certain amount of time?

Hmmm, too early imo, dont people usually put something like ..payment with in X amount of time of auction end? that covers you against the endless wait to see if they pay.
I would hold off if i were you, or at least mail the buyer to tell them the situation and give them x amount of time to pay.

Is there a specfic time limit on paying up if you do not add this note to your T+C's?

They have 0 feedback yet registered in 2005.

I smell a backup account somebody created to use on items they're undecided about. If you haven't heard from them within 72 hrs of auction closure, you may want to consider offering it to the second highest bidder.

There's some chance of 'revenge feedback', but TBH there's always some risk of that on eBay.

Or just someone who got carried away with the bidding and bid more than they wanted to pay

still no reply from them, so zero chance of them paying for this. I dont want to be waiting days and days so I'm gonna second chance tomorrow. If they wanted it they could have simply said within 24 hrs that they'll pay by a certain time. They bid near the end, so they clearly saw that they won the auction, so they easily could have emailed me. I'd have no problem waiting if that was the case. But its not a 5euro toy. If i ever bid a few hundred euro for something i'd pay instantly not wait a few days.

Learned my lesson, no zero feedback members and make them pay instantly!

In Advanced Search, look for Items by Bidder amd if your Buyer has won lots of these in past 24 hours, he's a scammer.

relisted it the other day and it looks like the same thing has happened again and another person from Tipperary! It seems like there bidding just in case they dont get one in a shop or there completely thick. Another 0 feedback bidder, registered in August 07. You can only block bidders with -1 or worse. Im never ever selling on ebay again after this.

You'll need to be patient- they aint gonna pay instantly. I've found that people VERY rarely pay straight after auction end.

You should state on the listing that payment is required x hours after auction end, and that 0 feedback bidders should contact you before placing bids to validate

This has always gotten to me. Why would someone not pay straight away? I use eBay like any online shop, you pick what you want and buy it. There's no waiting around four or five days to decide whether you'll bother paying or not. I've always paid instantly, unless the auction ends in the middle of the night or something, in which case I'd pay in the morning.

24 hours is more than enough time to wait for payment as far as I'm concerned. People bidding on things just in case they might want it are time wasters and shouldn't be tolerated, IMO anyway.

Remember that not everyone has access to the internet 24/7, maybe the only have access at work and are off for a few days etc.

That would explain the odd person taking a day or two, but according to Neon-Circles it's practically everyone. If you're bidding on something, and it ends when you've no Internet access, then you should either not bid, or make sure you've some way or paying. It's just common courtesy to pay in a timely manner.

I clearly stated in the item description that the buyer must pay within 24 hours (which is coming up soon).

Again this was a person who bid near the end and surely saw that they won. It was only a 1day auction. I'd understand if it was a 7day auction and the winning bidder made there final bid a few days before the end and forgot about it. But this person clearly knows they have won, I contacted them and didnt get reply. Sure i still havent got a reply from the person who won the original auction.

Seems like buy it now and instant paypal payment is the only way to stop this time wasters.

And this is a wii im selling, which ppl seem to be dying to buy. So if somebody did want it they'd surely pay as quick as they could. I'll probably have to jump through hoops for 6 months to get my fees back off ebay (well whats leftover after they rob some of it!)

stick in a notice saying that bidders with less than 5 feedback have to email you first or have their bid cancelled. btw why dont you just try selling it on adverts?

Is there an option you can just click on to sell to second highest bidder?
