Channel 5 fta?

    My sister just got sky + installed and asked yer man to put the spare box in the kitchen just for the free channels - she gave him 40quid for the nixer....he tuned in the free channels but she just called me there and told me that he also tuned in channel 5 as well! I didn't know it was fta - book seems like it is... can anyone confirm this or is my sis getting mixed up with all the free itv channels? Wud do so but ain't got sky ere

    I'd say either your sister has gotten mixed up or the installer sold her a FTV card

    All the UK channels may appear automatically without a card. The installer didn't tune anything. However C4, "Five", "Five Live", "Five US" and Sky Three won't work (The FTV channels), without a UK/NI "Freesat from Sky" card.

    Not unreasonable if he has to run a coax to the LNB. Possibly cheap.

    channel 5 is free to air, i tuned it in a few days ago.
    your sister is correct. you can get it thru other channels.
    its not on the epg and it won't.
