Normal Labret into Vertical Labret?

    Ola!

I have a normal labret piercing, had it for at least 4 years now. I leave it out most of the time till I miss it and put it back in for a day or two.

It annoys the hell outta my gums though, so I'm thinkin about getting a vertical labret piercing. But do I need the original piercing fully healed before I can get the vertical one?? the back half (the bit inside my mouth) heals over fine, but the outside never really closes up.

    Any ideas??

should be fine, the piercer probably wont use the same hole for the piercing. dont foresee a problem getting it done
