Anyone using one of the "new" GPS devices? Any issues/recommendations? How do they handle rain? What is the general response from clubs regarding allowing them in competitions? I played in the Pro-Am before the Europro Tour event in Roganstown and all the pros had them - they looked useful

I think they're illegal in competitions (and rightly so too in my opinion!).

Haven't hadn't a go of one yet unfortunately.

I knew the chap who was importing them and I used once around Forrest Little. To be honest I wasn't overly impressed. He tried to sell them to the corporate market in the likes of the K-Club, Adare Manor, Mount Juliet and no one was interested. He's since moved to England and the take up hasn't been that good either over there. Luckily enough, he didn't give up the day job!
