Laptop Screen Query

    I recently reinstalled Windows Vista on my laptop.

    When I close my notebook down (Dell Inspiron 1501) it goes to sleep but when I reopen it and windows loads the screen starts to flicker this green colour and I can't see anymore forcing me to restart my laptop.
    Is this a software or hardware problem and if so can anyone help me rectify it?
