Mmm Black belt - a Mayo 1-7 - shades of another BB there!!

My fav would be Colm Cooper - if only his folks had done those Civil Service exams and moved to Dublin. Gooch could've been born in Dublin 15 somewhere and we would now be going for the 5 in a Row! The curses of geography and career selection!

Assuming we are talking current day I think Stephens O'Neill and Stevie McDonnell are class and Kildare's John Doyle is a special talent.

Below is the team I would love to pick if I was forced to manage a team against the natives.

    1: Cluxton (Dublin)
    2: Karl Lacey (Donegal)
    3: Darren Fay (Meath)
    4: Joe Higgins(Laois)
    5: Aaron Kiernan (Armagh)
    6: Ger Spillane (Cork)
    7: Brian Cullen (Dublin)
    8: Sean Kavanagh (Tyrone)
    9: Eamon O Hara (Sligo)
    10: Brian Dooher (Tyrone)
    11:Brian McGuigan (Tyrone)
    12:Alan Brogan (Dublin)
    13:Stephen O'Neill (Tyrone)
    14:Paddy Bradley (Derry)
    15:Steven McDonnell (Armagh)

Sean Cavanagh, Oisin McConville, Alan Dillon, Paddy Bradley, Colm Cooper, Darren Fay, Colm Parkinson, Niall McNamee and Tomás Ó Sé in the football (I think they'd all bring a lot to the Dublin team)

In the hurling, the usual suspects (Shefflin, McGrath, etc.) plus a few less obvious choices like James Ryall, Colin Lynch, Noel Hickey, Iarlath Tannion, Rory Jacob, Niall Gilligan and Tony Griffin

Cant say im Parkinsons biggest fan either, He is an overated player IMO and he seems like a bit of an idiot to go along with it as well as a whinger. Wouldnt have him anywhere near any team i was in charge of.

As for lads i like :

    1. Brian McGuigan
    2. CJ McGourty (young lad from Antrim)
    3. Benny Coulter
    4. Stephen Bray (even though he is a meath man:D)
    5. Paddy Bradley
    6. Ciaran McDonald
    7. Marc o Se
    8. Phillip jordan
    9. Paul Barden
    10. Anthony Lynch
    11. Paul finlay
    12. Barry owens
    13. Barry McWeeney (Leitrim, quality player for a small county)

Have seem Coulter's name a few times. Anyone agree with me that this chap has failed to fulfill his underage potential? I honestly have not seen him do anything of note at senior level.
McNamee an interesting choice and I agree top form Clarke is the best full forward in the country including 'Star'
What do people make of John Doyle Kildare and I havn't seem Mattie or Declan Browne mentioned too often!!
Would you not give Joe Higgins the No 4??

What did Colm Parkinson say about Dublin?

I may replace him with PJ Banville then.:)

I like John Doyle. One of the top scorers in Leinster.Seems that Kildare rely too heavily on him though.Probably one of the best forwards in Leinster.I think he's better than Munnelly,Barry and Dessie Dolan.

I like Mattie Forde also.He brings a lot to the Wexford team and my favourite score against Dublin was his point in 2005 when he smacked the ball from the Cusack Stand over to the Hill and the ball smacked off the top of the crossbar and went over.

I left out Kerry due to them being overexposed but I my favourite Kerry player is Mike Frank Russell.

How I would rate the Kerry forwards

    1: Cooper
    2: Declan O'Sullivan
    3: Galvin
    4: Star
    5: Sheehan
    6: Sean O' Sullivan
    7: Quill
    8: Brosnan
    9: Mike Frank
    10: Darren O Sullivan

Graham Geraghty: Im not happy unless im verbally beating the stink out of someone and he provides that for me :D

I would agree with Forde. Also a fan of Dessie Dolan. Cooper is just class so has to be there. For past players Anthony Tohill as he always looks like he is about to hop on someone and kick the head off them even in interviews :D

I was about to start arguing about having Sean O'Sullivan and Brosnan as low as they are and then I just looked at the quality from 1-5  scary (though I'd still have a top-form Brosnan ahead of Quill, maybe even as high as 5)

True Tom but he hasn't been helped by playing on the poorest Down team for years. And to add insult to injury for the county their hottest starlet in years Martin Clarke goes off to play for Collingwood. Down fans must be sick.

Have to agree with JayoCluxton. If you see him with Ulster or in the International Rules or at Ulster Club Level, you'll see what he can do.

I'm into players that will do things consistantly in games that matter. Brosnan has gone missing too often for me. When he is good he is a 3 or 4 on my list but the word 'when' knocks him to 8th with me. S O S always does his job and Quill still hasn't got a fair crack of the whip in championship.

Dessie Dolan, Kieran McDonald, Mattie Ford (shocked i haven't seen him mentioned more) Tommie Freeman, Joe Bergin and Eamonn O'Hara

Is it players you actually have a bit of a soft spot for or the best players from outside your county. If it's the former, Sean Cavanagh, Stephen O'Neill, Paddy Bradley, Tommie Freeman and Marc O'Sé are players I really like.

In hurling, Eoin Kelly from Tipp, Ken McGrath and Dan Shanahan, John Gardiner, Tommie Walsh, Henry Shefflin....

There's a good few more aswell but I'm too hungover to go through them all! :D
