    Hi,
I want to bring the boyfriend for a holiday for New Year's Eve and we are thinking of visiting London. We would probably be flying out on the morning of the 30th (Sunday) and coming back on the 1st (Tuesday). I am just wondering will the shops etc be open, firstly because the 30th is a Sunday and second because of New Year's Day? We would be visiting Madame Tussaud's and London Zoo and I know they are open. Also all the usual attractions, Trafalgar Square, Buckingham Palace, the London Eye??? And the shops! Don't want to go over and the place is like a ghost town!! Also how hard is it gonna be to find a decent hotel? Am I leaving it too late?

Most stores etc will be open.

Hotel wise - it's going to be expensive enough for anywhere decent I'd imagine, especially at this late stage - you might get lucky with a bit of shopping around. Flights too, at that time of year, will be more expensive too
