Hi there, I wonder would anyone have some info as to why my remote eye wont work (led wont light) i am connecting to the rf 2 out on the sky box and have done the settings in the installers menu

What makes it more fustrating i have another remote eye working off the same box in the kitchen
I have even disconnected that eye and tried it on the rf2 out but that one dosent light either

Any advice would be much appreciated

How are you splitting the signal from the RF2 output to the two tvs? Sounds like there's no power going to the eye.
The splitter/amp must be capable of passing the current through to the eye.
Have you tried the new eye at the kitchen tv to make sure it works?

Thanks for that well the way ive worked it is that i left the sky box in the attic and ran the main cable to the kitchen with the remote eye on the end of it
and its just a standard coaxil cable running from the rf2 to the second tv with no splitters or anything else connected to it

I even made up a short cable with connectors on each end and connected the remote eye to that but still nothing, i thought the cable i was running to the other tv might be too long!

I will try connecting the kitchen eye to the rf2 this evening though

    thanks again

The Sky box only powers one of the RF outs for the eyes. So the cable going to the new eye will need to be coming from the same RF out as the one feeding the TV in the kitchen. You can get splitters that will power multiple eyes but the eye will not work if just connected to the other output on the Sky box.

You'll probably find that neither of them will work with the splitter installed. Splitters don't normally pass the direct current needed to power the eye. You can get a gatdget to allow power to by-pass the splitter, but I can't see them on CPC right now.

For anyone else trying this, only certain good quality splitters will work. There's information here:
