Not bad, bet it's noisey though that's what i hate about hi caps...

I think there automatic versions of that aswell, they wind it while your shooting.,

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 40,291 ✭✭✭✭Gatling

the only problem is if you have a Dboys hi cap ,you will still get misfeeds:mad::mad::mad:

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,414 ✭✭✭kdouglas

i hate winding but i hate the rattle of all the bbs just as much tbh :)

I want noiseless hi caps! Then i'll be happy lol

I hate that baby-rattle effect. Though if you can hear your high cap rattle, you're not shouting loud enough at your targets.

I might try making a rubber lined mag so that they dont rattle as much, or even more strange, a water mag.,lol, though ill leave that up to someone else to try., :D

Great idea on the lining - gotta be worth a try!

I bought something similiar for the G36. It winds with a button and it has a pressure mechanism so the bbs don't rattle. No end of trouble though. Its got to the stage I prefer the mid caps, at least their reliable.

Naw its mid caps ftw !!!

Actually, I often wondered whther ity would be possible to double stack a mid-cap magazine with two spring chambers of BB's?

Its probably a technical nightmare but it would double the capactiy of mid-caps.

You'ld have to redesign the port at the top of the magazine to allow it to feed from two different chambers.

In one of the big box mags could the spare 2000 or so bbs be kept in a balloon?
To stop them rattling and keep them under pressure, with the opening leading into the gubbins?

Just a thought....probably a nightmare to get to work.

The drum mag I use on my G3 has a platform that moves as you fill
it up and as you empty it so there is no rattle from the BBs.

Loading it would be the main issue... you need a system that you can take the pressure off just so you can load it.

I hate high caps but with the rate of fire on my FAL I'm just reloading all the time. So I have one hi-cap for battle battles and for anything that I'm being sneaky in, I use the mid caps.

A non rattling hi cap would be a dream... also a less itchy trigger finger!

Well, Jams, unwnding and awfully awkward to store on your gear. I'd avoid P90s due to their mags! The gun itself is brilliant though.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,414 ✭✭✭kdouglas

jams only occur if you dont take good care of your mags, a little bit of silicone oil into the mag's gears every now and again and your grand, i've no problem storing p90 mags inside my vest or in knee-pockets on my combats, there is also plenty of molle pouches and vests that will fit p90 mags very well

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 960 ✭✭✭Harekin

You can get MOLLE P90 mag pouches as well as drop leg ones. And a brief tap is enough to clear the jam...and it only unwinds if you dont engage the mag properly.

    EDIT: Damn you Keith!

This is going to be hard to explain but it would reduce nearly all rattle if it worked. A spring with a board/plate on the top of the mag facing down onto the bb's constantly pushing them down. This would mean the bb door would need some kind of latch. Also a nightmare o make id say. Might try it for the laugh though.....

thats not all that far fetched, although if it was me i would design it with an elastic band to do the compressing, it would take up less space, have less parts and less likely to make some mags even more unreliable.,

that's pretty much how the p90 high caps work

If you are looking for a suitable spring the ones in a midcap might work.

Oh really? Didnt know that. The P90 seems to be a god damn super weapon! Small, acurate (for its size) high ROF no rattle hi caps.....hmm (strokes chin and considers buying one sometime...)

LIAMO: Might try it with a non airsoft spring to get better strength. And even though i have NEVER used my low cap/standared mag i couldnt bring myself to kill it. A lonly weeked job id say. That reminds me i gotta drop the buddys mp5 back over to him now. To the bat car followed by off licence!

Lol batmobile...crazy fecker... next question is P90TR or regular P90!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,452 ✭✭✭thehomeofDob

TR, you can put any sight on it then. And if the sight on the regular P90 ever broke, you'd be well fecked. Side rails on the TR let you attatch torches/lasers (<- lasers possibly illegal).

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,641 ✭✭✭zero19

Yeah that's what i was thinking too, pretty sure lasers are illegal for some reason! Looked at the custom one on ehobby and nearly threw up!

*Covers his own P90TR's eyes in disgust*
DONT LOOK AT IT! ITS A DISGUSTING HORRIBLE GUN! The thing nightmares are made of...owning that gun!

That m16 mag conversion could be soooo handy though. P90 mags are expensive enough.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 960 ✭✭✭Harekin

If you want an M16 but an M16...the P90 takes P90 mags thanks! Dont sodomise it, its a beautiful gun.

    are hi caps generally crap?
I ask becaise my aug came with a hi-cap and to test it i threw about 20 bbs into it, wound it up, it fired about 5 or 6, and then just stopped. I wound it for like 5 mins and its still dry firing. Is this a hi crap issue? (battery was 100% charged btw, and no bbs jammed in the barrell)

why not just line the inside with some foam rubber

that's normal, most hi-caps cant push the last few bbs, midcaps and locaps are the same too, but generally not as bad

I have a CA hicap for my g36 and it works flawlessly.
I have a DBoys Hicap for my m4 and it is the worst thing ever!
You get what you pay for. I use midcaps for the dboy.

Let's say I got one of these spare for butchering purposes...

    MAG-AMAG-SIG100_1.jpg

    (SIG-series midcap)

And now let's say I get hold of one of these cheap enough...

    A&K_5000rdM16Boxmag.gif

    (A&K 5000 M4 self-winding box mag)

Mating possible, you think? As in, top portion of SIG mag "grafted" onto the box mag?

yeah id say its do-able, would take a bit of careful cutting and epoxy resin to do it but i wouldnt imagine it would be that difficult.,

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 163 ✭✭theburi

One solution will be not to have hi cap's but use mid mag with electric auto loader that you can cary on a vest.
Then you would need only two standard mid caps with this loader.
I haven't found anything like this on the net.
