Recommend a book for bird-watching in garden

Hi guys,

My mum is really into bird watching in her garden. She has put out feeders & has a pair of binoculars.

Could anyone recommend a good beginners birdwatching book, with emphasis on garden birds?

In this case, I'd suggest getting a book that concentrates on the birds you're actually likely to find in an average garden rather than an exhaustive field guide which will likely only confuse her. The second Collins one looks about right to me for this purpose.

The BBC brought out a book a couple of years back dedicated to garden birds. I think the guy who compiled it was Tony Stoper... I had a copy of it but it got chewed up by my wee Jack Russell!!

Check out the BBC web site or google Tony Stoper. It was a great little book. It gave tips on which plants attract birds, the siting of feeders etc.
