Great episode - it really heated up!

Favourite element was the Lyla bashing - fantasitc! Debbie's sneer of "pot of tea" had me laughing and then she bettered herself again with "men are such bastards!" mockingly in the station. Then to top it off Dexter realised what a freak she was and threatened to slice'n'dice! Wuhoo!!

And Doakes has finally got some evidence on his hands - so what's the bets it's going to incriminate him? Doakes is the only viable person candidate now for the Bay Harbour butcher and his history of having a temper, his special ops training (to conceal murders) mean he's, sadly, going to be locked away by season's end - in a cell or a coffin. Good stuff all the same.

It was good to see Dexter go back to his old self a bit - return to the murders and killing (even if it was Bra'tac!) and back to the family he does actually kinda like (didn't like Lyla's manipulation of what Cody was up to with the action figure).

So how long before Doakes takes the fall or will there be another twist along the way?

WARNING... there will be spoilers, i've already added a warning so i'm not going to spoiler tag. Only spoiler tag if you are going to talk about episodes not shown yet.

WOW!!! What a great episode. From Deb slagging off Lilas accent, to all the twists and suspense. Possibly the finest hour of TV i've watched in a long time.

OMG, couldn't believe Doakes found the blood samples, Dex kills his mothers killer, and poignantly the same way he killed her, with a chainsaw. Deb is closing in on Dex.

Dex is going to have to kill Doakes, or make up some amazing reason for keeping cooled samples of blood from all the Bay Butcher victims

Not to be petty but they are dried and were in the air con to hide them. Nothing to do with temp.

Anyway i can see where this is going. If doakes gets raided with the samples of blood in his possesion then he'll go down for life and the heat will be off Dex. Also if doakes dissapears and the samples get found everyone will assume it was him and stop looking for dex.

With Doakes behaviour recently (shooting people and kicking the **** out of dex) noone would bat an eye lid and assume he was guilty.

Excellent episode though. Dexter is back in killer mode which is where he should stay. About time he got back on message.

Great Episode I think Lila will have to be dealt with the Dex way :) Never liked her anyway and hated her even more for breaking into Rita's house. Will they find out who signed out the car on that case (I hope Dex gets to the log book and puts Doakes name down) Great to see Dex in Killing mode again. Really hope that Dex gets back with Rita as well, hope she gets over the pissed off way she's been acting all season long.

Also Kudos to the lads for getting the Dexter forum going!

you may be right, but i've been raking my brains over what possible reason dexter could have for keeping such incriminating evidence in the A/C unit. That being said, why does he keep slides at all, harry would never of approved of it. If I remember correctly Deb nearly found the slides before when the A/C unit was acting up, yet Dexter still leaves them there.

There is no log book,Angel said that there was no need for one because the only people who could sign out evidence were people who worked there so what would it matter as they are all cops.

Nice to see Detective Mike Belker enjoying his retirement (from Hill Street Blues) down in Florida.
    He's still obviously a nutjob though :D.

    Great episode.

What was the run time by the way? I think I might be missing a few minutes from the end. The recording I got from my cousins was only 48 mins long and switched back quite abruptly to my aunt and uncle's homemade sex tape that they taped over. Last bit I saw was Dexter threatening the bony bitch.

I'm pretty sure that was the last scene in mine too, Stark.

Great episode again. I liked the bit where Doakes and LaGuerta were strolling down the near the beach, and Doakes jokingly says he could become a butcher as a day job from now on. I just wonder if he will be pinned as the Bay Harbour butcher though...

I hope not. They've been telegraphing that for a few episodes now and it will be just too predictable if that's the way the season is going to end.

I'm hoping for something from left field from Special Agent Lundy. He seems very adept at catching serial killers as is Dexter.
I wonder if they share any other traits?

Wouldn't be so sure - Randy was obviously telegraphed as the Ice Truck killer last year and... well he was. Okay there was the connection to Dexter on top of that but it was still made clear pretty quickly and was one of the few disappointing aspects to the first season.

Was so great to see Dex turning on Lila. She was starting to ruin the season. Though I suppose every great show has a character like that some times. *cough Mandy in S1 of the West Wing cough*

I've just finished watching it and it was a great episode. Things are starting to get really good. I really hope it doesn't get pinned on Doakes as it is a bit too obvious but I can't see it going any other way.

The best bit had to be at the end when Dexter says "Or you will see the monster". The look on his face and the way he says are just perfect. I can't wait to see the next episode.

Also a big cheers to vex on creating the forum.

Maybe things won't play out as neatly as Dex framing Doakes. What if Doakes gets into some trouble and Dexter saves his life, leaving him indebted to Dex? Maybe Doakes would approve of Dexter only killing other murderers and he'd become his silent partner? But they'll have to frame someone - Lundy will have it figured out by the end of the season.

this will never happen, they are nemeses, the writers made this clear from the very first episode of season 1. I think Doakes is the only one who can see Dex for who he is because he himself is a lot like Dex. It would be like Sherlock being indebted to Moriarty

F**king great stuff. Some of the best T.V I've seen in a long time. It really was edge-of-your-seat stuff. I always hated Lyla and it was great when Deb continually gave her snide comments. "Men are such b****rds" - Ha, brilliant!

I really hope the Dexter gets back with Rita. I just seem to really like that family now.

Dexter killing yore man with a chainsaw. Nice. Although it's very unlike his character. I thought he was more into surgical precision as opposed to just chopping him to bits with the unthinkable amount of blood splatter. (Dexter's heaven or hell? :p)

Great stuff. Can't wait for next week now! :)
