    Try this
    http://www.snapfiles.com/get/winsockxpfix.html
Download it and run it, it fixes Windows socket layers (which are used for internet access) and may fix your problem.
    Worth a shot....

Dell don't do drop off points in Ireland. In the Uk i think they use the car phone ware house or something.
There are plenty of repair places that you can drop them into around the country. I know one called typ tech (i don't know if they are only based in dublin)

You can check if you are still in warranty by entering you service tag into this site http://support.euro.dell.com/support/topics/topic.aspx/emea/shared/support/root/en/warranty_information?c=ie&l=en&s=gen

If not Dell wont help you and you can try there out of warranty which is Presto but i think that is only software related problems

    hope i helped

Better calling your ISP (Internet Provider). Are you Eircom? They should be able to go through a few things over the phone.
