AOE 3 Multiplayer help

    Hi,

    Just bought the game, everytime i try to connect to a game, i get the message "Failed to join game", and i've a feeling it's because i'm using a wireless connection. Any help appreciated! Thanks

    Got the exact same thing, tried for ages to get it to work and couldn't :( I've resigned myself to the fact that I'm never going to get it to work.

    if u use vista do this!

    Add age3.exe into the DEP exception list
    under "System" in Control Panel. Goto "System Protection". Under Advanced Tab, click on Settings under Performance. Click on Data Execution Prevention tab and add the age3.exe into the exception list. Then click ok.

    (Run the game as administrator)
    If you got error about writing logs in the AOE3 directory, right click on the shortcut. Under the Compatibility tab, check the "Run this program as administrator". Then click ok.

    if u have XP its more likely to be a firewall issue. make sure aoe3 is in the list of exceptions in your normal firewall and XP firewall.
