A few annoying questions about online poker

Just looking for some details on online tools used I play mainly NLHE sit and goes and pot limit omaha cash.

Currently I just use pokertracker and I have no idea what a lot of the stats mean. I know what my winrate is from it and that's about it
e.g. I know AF is important, mine is about 1.5 but what does it mean?
If there are links for this already please point them out.

Additionally what else do people recommend using? I hear people use PAHUD what is it etc? Where do I get them and how much will they improve your results?

Lastly what do these stats mean?

    (81/16/4), (30/17/1)

I really need to catch up with all this technology stuff

    Thanks

I recommend wearing 2 pairs of gloves in goals when ur taking a shot!! that's some right foot ya got there :D

As for PT never used it but i think AF is aggression factor but could be totally wrong, think Llyod said its aggression so i blame him if im wrong!

think you'll find some links in the stickeys..

PA HUD will display stats on the tables of you and your opps but best learn what the stats mean first I guess...

GT+ is a free version of PA hud while not as detialed it will do the basics and is fine for a starter as PA hud will prob only confuse to start with.. you'll get a link off the poker tracker site.

Poker grapher is another freebie thats worth having just to see graphs of your progress..

EYE poker is excellent for dataming and table selection... www.spadeit.com and costs 40 USD but has a weeks trial

But Poker tracker and HUD display ar ehte only real essentials to get you going... try GT+ and PT and see how you get on

    best of luck..

    Mac

This might help too but alot of it might not relate more to cash than sng's though. There is some tools that are useful for sngs but i cant remember the names something on the lines of sng power tools or sng wizard, they basically tell you if it is +EV to push or not based on stack sizes/hold cards and your estimation of the players range, essential for good sng players.

I used to play sng's but i think youll find cash is way more profitable unless your really really good although sngs are a good way to start as cash games are far more complex that sng's in the amount of scenarios youll come across which is why i think alot of the info above on using poker tracker will be no good to you as its completely different. For example when you get to 3 handed this will increase your V$PIP (which is basically how often your playing flops) so alot of the stats on pokeys guide will just confuse you.

if ur just playing sngs u dont really need any of these softwares. i never used any and have done fine. although poker tracker is essential if ur playing cash dont think its much use for sngs

Thanks for that - i'll look the stuff up

Use to play NL cash games but they bore me at the moment. So I play omaha instead and sit and goes.

Live I play MTTs' and NL cash so I've a nice balance

I think that poker guide sticky thing that some idiot did should probably be updated with a brief section on this stuff - links to tools, explanations of stats etc. I go from knowing what the stats mean to forgetting a week later and looking it up again. Don't play enough to have it hard-wired yet.

I'll put a thread together on this, it's definitely something that belongs in the sticky.

I don't think Dom's contract allows him to be terminated like that, so I suggest instead a promotion to mod of the mustard forum.
