Finally it would seem O2 are appealing to the masses! Personally I hate bebo but it's a great step forward!

I was messing around with this for about 10 minutes last night, it actually seems quite good. My phone is 3G so browsing for once is a pleasure! I never had the patience before. I checked the data usage on my phone afterwards and it was about 380kb download and 70kb upload, for this 10 minute bebo session. At €1.50 a week, this seems good value. If I did browsing of this nature on any other website though it would cost me about €4.50!! The current O2 data rates are flippin laughable.

So, here's to hoping that O2 will be bring in some flat-rate weekly browsing subscription for the INTERNET. I would finally make some use of the browser on my phone. I'd pay about €10 a month for a gig or two, would you??

ps As if teachers didn't have enough hassle with mobile phones in their schools, now they'll have the extra element of mobile bebo to deal with too

It is a good idea and I can see a lot of people paying for this (hell they pay for those stupid ringtones). It's a good move by o2 and hopefully they do introduce flat rate mobile internet soon.

    Extended until 31/07/08
    Text BEBO TO 50205
    Info, T&Cs, Current Pricing
I can't seen to find confirmation of the weekly subscription charge after the free offer ends.

I wonder how many people will actually stick with this when they start charging for it. I couldn't really estimate as bebo is obviously extremely popular and it's hard to say. I think o2 should make a deal with bebo to make it permanently free. That would be a real coup for them, like the free windows live messenger is for 3.
