I just downloaded a big file and it came in file.zip format. I opened this file and out came a new in the form file.zip.cpgz.

I unarchived this and was left with the original file2.zip file again. This just keeps going on in circles. zip, zip.cpzg, zip, zip.cpzg....etc

I've downloaded two programs(stuffit and unarchiver) and neither have had any other effect on the files?

I've been searching google for an answer but all i can see is people asking the same question but not getting any answers? Is this just an unfixable bug?

How did you download the file? It sounds like it's probably corrupt and BOMArchiveHelper doesn't recognise it, so it's createing a cpzg. I've heard of this happening.

Try downloading it again (with a download manager) and opening it with Stuffit or Unarchiver.

Can you view the properties of the zip file and see how many files/folders it claims to contain?

It only shows the size of the file. No mention of how many anything really just the size.

I'm gonna download it again and see how it goes this time.:(
