Thanks for that , as usual the Guardian show their class when it comes to boxing .

This was the article they had about Joe Calzaghe leading up to the Kessler fight http://sport.guardian.co.uk/boxing/story/0,,2201534,00.html
    A fantastic article imo .

    Great article..

    Just a few observations....

Did Hatton win an amateur world title? Junior? I'm doubting it...

The other thing is how deceptive Hatton is.
He's way more than just a pressure fighter with
power. He's fast, hard and hard to nail clean and hard
to really hurt. He's a talented boxer as well as fighter...

Hatton and Floyd are almost identical physically.
This is Hatton's advantage as the article said.

If you aren't bigger than Ricky, you are fuc***

Think he won a bronze in the worlds juniors read that somewhere before.

As far as I'm aware he did win a bronze in the World juniors(the highlight of his amateur career) . One of his 3 losses as an amateur was to German Super-middleweight contender Jurgen Braehmer .

So maybe he won a bronze, but I think the article claims he won a world junior title.

    Ah well....

    Agreed.
And as Billy Graham said the Yanks are full of ****, just believing him to be a straight ahead slugger. This fight will surprise them.

I doubt if PBF and his team see Hatton as just a straight ahead slugger though. In public they may run him down, but they will have done their homework on Hatton, and will see him as the threat he is.

I still don't see Hatton beating Mayweather though, it will be competitive, imho, but I think class will win out. And the class being Mayweather in this case.

From watching the first episode of 24/7, I am leaning even more towards a Hatton victory. There is just something about his attitude and mentality that tells me
that he is so so confident and is feeling close on unbeatable.

His camp is going perectly and his training is top notch......
PBF I think, may be underestimating the threat.
Not dismissing it, but just being a little too blase.....

Hatton IMO wants this ore and I think he is going to be
    pure hell for PBF.....

Let's hope the one thing that could ruin this fight does
    NOT happen......Ricky suffers cuts!!!!!!

ah i really think it's all show with floyd i really do cause he ain't got this far unbeaten by not taking an fighter lightly, he'll have hatton well thought out i hope ricky gives it a fair go but can't see him been strong enough to stop mayweather with one shot but hey you never know thats the great thing with boxing. I've said to my mates for a while that i thinks mayweather will stop him on cuts just cause he's such a sharp fighter. Thats my main worry for ricky i'm sure his camp feel so too.
