So during the weekend I was given a old Pentax AF-400FTZ flashfun, while I've tested it and it does work, can anyone tell me would there be any issues using it with a Canon EOS 400D, will I be able to make use of all available functions of the flash gun?

Not sure if it's what you're looking for but try this page. I'd say you'll have to use it fully manual though.

hmmnnnn.... i had some communication with pentax who confirmed that if i was prepared to shoot in full manual flash mode, then older flash units would work fine - but... this was on the basis of a modern Pentax DSLR rather than Cannon.... From what i had read at the time, the concerns were around voltage that the older flash would potentially damage the modern DSLR....

If you have that flashgun in few months time, let me know, please...

It won't work, only like a standard flashgun. There is different communication and physical position of contacts.
