Sorry if this is the wrong forum folks, I don't visit here too often I'm afraid. A wee while back someone mentioned to me that it's possible to buy a freeview box from the UK in order to pick up the Digital Freeview trials that RTE are conducting at the moment.

Is this the case? Has anyone done this? Where did you get a box from and how much was it?

RTE are not conducting any trials.

    It's DMCNR and BT.

The most of thed channels are encrypted, some in MPEG4 and trials end soon.

Better to spend the money on a FTA satellite system.

Nearly any DTT/Freeview box will receive whatever clear MPEG2 channels there happens to be for a short while longer. Available Newry (Argos?) and also some Dublin shops. A waste of money IMO
