    hello
I have have a computer that was riddled with viruses and now that i have just got broadband i decided to get rid of them. in the past i used avg and lavasoft. But i was reading some threads and they suggested avast and spyware terminator (free)
    -so i downloaded
    -Uninstalleded avg and lavasoft
-installed both product ran scans removed 21 viruses and 23 critical objects (that avg and lavasoft filed to detect or remover even with updates in the past)

but the problem is that i have still not got rid of the cursor bug (really annoying) when moving the cursor it automatically jumps to one of the corners of the screen.
i think it is a virus but i am not sure
i have a logitech infered mouse

has anyone had this problem i the past or even now
does anyone know how to get rid of it
i would be greatful for your help

    run

Are you using a laser/optical mouse, i.e. one without the ball underneath? If it's placed on a glossy surface, the pointer is often seen to jump. It happens me too. Try putting the mouse on a different surface to rule this out, such as a sheet of even cardboard.

My mouse jumps to the corners as well unfortunately no matter what surface it's on( very annoying when play FPS games:mad:).

It could be this, but have you experienced your mouse jumping before you got infected?

i have a mouse mat that it use to work fine on, so i think its a virus or something

Post a HijackThis log here, that will tell us more. Do you get any messages when your mouse cursor moves?

Close all windows except for HijackThis and click "Fix checked"

Then delete this folder in bold

    C:\PROGRAM FILES\Crawler

Download WinPFind3U.exe to your Desktop and double-click on it to extract the files. It will create a folder named WinPFind3u on your desktop.
    • Open the WinPFind3u folder and double-click on WinPFind3U.exe to start the program.
    • Under Additional Scans on the bottom right, check the box for Reg - Disabled MS Config Items.
    • Now click the Run Scan button on the toolbar.
    • When the scan is complete Notepad will open with the report file loaded in it.
    • Click the Format menu and make sure that Wordwrap is not checked. If it is then click on it to uncheck it.
Use the Add Reply button and Copy/Paste the information back here in an attachment. I will review it when it comes in. The last line is < End of Report >, so make sure that is the last line in the attached report.

Make sure you attach the report in your reply.

    Do this

Please download Deckard's System Scanner (DSS) and save it to your Desktop.
    • Close all other windows before proceeding.
    • Double-click on dss.exe and follow the prompts.
    • When it has finished, dss will open two Notepads main.txt and extra.txt -- please copy (CTRL+A and then CTRL+C) and paste (CTRL+V) the contents of main.txt and extra.txt in your next reply.

    Do this instead

Download Combofix and save it to your desktop.

**Note: It is important that it is saved directly to your desktop**

    1. Close any open browsers.

    2. Close/disable all anti virus and anti malware programs so they do not interfere with the running of ComboFix.

Double click on combofix.exe & follow the prompts.
When finished, it will produce a report for you.
    • Please post the "C:\ComboFix.txt" for further review.

    Note:
Do not mouseclick combofix's window while it's running. That may cause it to stall

    Hello

    1. Close any open browsers.

    2. Open notepad and copy/paste the text in the quotebox below into it:
    File::
    C:\WINDOWS\system32\dfpqkqua.dll

    Folder::
    C:\Program Files\AskSBar
    C:\Program Files\Altnet

    Registry::
    [-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\software\microsoft\shared tools\msconfig\startupreg\DllRunning]

Save this as CFScript.txt, in the same location as ComboFix.exe

    CFScript.gif

Refering to the picture above, drag CFScript into ComboFix.exe

When finished, it shall produce a log for you at "C:\ComboFix.txt"

    Note:
Do not mouseclick combofix's window whilst it's running. That may cause it to stall

CLICK HERE to download the HijackThis Installer:

    2. Double-click on HJTInstall.exe to run the program.
    3. By default it will install to C:\Program Files\Trend Micro\HijackThis.
    4. Accept the license agreement by clicking the "I Accept" button.
    5. Click on the "Do a system scan and save a log file" button. It will scan and then ask you to save the log.
    6. Click "Save log" to save the log file and then the log will open in Notepad.
    7. Click on "Edit -> Select All" then click on "Edit -> Copy" to copy the entire contents of the log.
    8. Come back here to this thread and paste the log in your next reply.
    9. Do NOT have HijackThis fix anything yet! Most of what it finds will be harmless or even required.
