Hi there! Today I received a letter from Post about TV Licence , well... I don't have a TV at the address, but I do have a computer monitor. Doesn't seem we have to pay for it, but as we moved to Ireland recently, I'm not sure how things works around here. Could someone give any light over this subject?

    Cheers

Does your computer have a TV tuner?

No... it doesn't. Doesn't make sense... but as I received the letter, maybe the landlord contacted the Post or Eircom provided them with the information that I have a computer, I was thinking that maybe I'm subjected to pay this licence. Or they just send this letter randomly? As there's my name on the letter I was wondering...

They send the letter to all householders at houses with no registered licence - they get the names from various sources.

You're not liable to pay it if you have no tuner.
