Yeah, as it happened I just saw that promo last night.
I have mixed feelings about it as I've never seen any promos while watching the previous 4 seasons and I think that seeing what's coming in advance takes away from my overall enjoyment of the show or indeed any show.

That said it does seem that McNulty is "off the hook" in this season and showing his usual respect to the chain of command :p.

i pray to the tv gods that the strike doesn't mess up the series tbh if its going to be a factor i wud much rather the hold off until the strike is over and sorted because for me this has been the greatest t.v. show i've even seen, one which has progressively gotten better with every series, therefor i've got very high hopes for the 5th and final series!

i'd be willing to bet my entire dvd collection that the theme posted above is no where near the real theme is going to be!

oh and fair play to whoever got this section of boards up and running, its been long overdue.

The strike won't have an effect. Season 5 has already finished filming never mind being written! All done and ready to go.

And, in the spirit of patriotism, I think Aidan "Carcetti" Gillen does a good accent too, given he's a Dubliner.

I think the writer's strike will have an effect.
Prison Break has been stopped mid season, despite having episodes filmed.

Wow. I knew McNulty is English, didn't know Carcetti was Irish.
that said, he's the spitting image of a friend of mine.

Ye but msot shows have a certain amount filmed, they don't have whole seasons filmed like the Wire does. The Wire is done and ready to go. It will air on schedule with no interuption.

Also Prison Break was stopped early because 24 which was supposed to start in January has been postponed so they want a few PB episodes to air in January.

**** me!! Just Checking the actor who plays Carcetti's Wikipedia page.
He was also Stuart in Queer as Folk. He was great in that and he's great in The Wire.
What's amazing is that His portrayals are so different I didn't notice they were the same person.
