Im seriously interested in making my own bow and i,ve managed to secure a nice peice of yew after viewing some 1000 or more trees but ive been advised to begin making my first bow with lemonwood (degame as its international name) but i dont want to add to the co2 of the world with an unnessery trip to the uk to buy this.. a visual inspection is a must as i must aviod any timber splits or bad twists! Does anybody know of a shop or group of people that might sell or be able to provide high quality staves that have been inspected by a fully fledged bowyer.
