    I've finally got the means to buy a new laptop, and I'm wondering if it's better to buy it before Christmas or after? I presume the prices would go down in January, right? And I'm not buying a Dell, just incase anyone starts singing their praises.

    As a general rule, there is always something better around the corner. Personally, I don't think it is worth waiting until after Christmas. Prices always go down, but only because a newer and better model has just been introduced.

    Don't bother waiting, if you're buying in a store then maybe waiting might be more worthwhile but if you're buying online it won't make too much difference when you buy.
