I used steam for tf2, not so much any more.

Also use it for cod4, arma2, far cry 1 and 2, fallout 3, bunch of other stuff. Never screwed up on me.

Yeah, steam would suck on a bad connection, Dan has the same problem.

Must get everyones steam acc's. Could have some fun with sv_alltalk :D

I think the US Army may have tried to rehabilitate ACU in Transformers 2.

You can imagine some US Army Colonel speaking to Michael Bay

"Listen son I don't wanna see none ya'll actors wearin that Gawds damn Multicam in this here motion picture ya here? Cos if I sees it I'm gonna take all my toys back home and ya can play along in this here desert with those nice Air Force and Navy folks. The US Army wears ACU son. I ain't losing my chance at a star like the fella in the last movie letting ya'all get away with that career ending sheeit. Are we clear!"

After watching Arma II being played today, I made the conscious decision not to download the game, but to go out and actually buy it.

The first pc game I'll have bought, that was not world of warcraft, in like 5 years.

Well excited, if anyone else is getting it or has it, theres a few hawks that play it, and it seems a game that defo needs co op in the campaign or few multiplayer lols.

also for a free game thats pretty nifty, teeworlds is worms meets quake. Its an easy light pick me up game that you just obliterate everything that moves, great fun for ten minutes or ten hours.

Ill have it in a week, just paying off some more debt :D
Got the demo, very impressed with it. You should head on over to www.tacticalgamer.com and play arma2 with the TG lads. Its the best gaming community on the net. They gear toward very realistic play, with everything.

While its obvoius that they are wearing ACU, you must take into account that the Autobots wanted a distraction for the Decepticons and so made sure that the good guys (henceforth known as cannon-fodder) were dressed appropriately:

Optimus Prime: We need to create a distraction in order to beat the Decepticons.
Ratchet: Why not dress the cannon fodder in really light coloured clothes so they will stand out like sore thumbs.
Optimus Prime: I f*&%ing like your way of thinking. Lets do it.
Ratchet: This is gonna be great.

This dialogue was cut from the film because of its rating.

Except that a desert/arid environment is one of the few places in the world that ACU actually works well whereas they used multicam (a pattern that depends heavily on vegetation and colour variation) in a city last time. So basically they've actually seen sense.
Of course, it's still the SAS lad who wins Best Dressed for the event.

    Dex fa1l too,
the soldiers who were wearing multicam in the first movie actually started out in the desert before going into the city.

I know they started out in the desert. I saw them. As did everyone with 300 miles.

Besides, I was a bit too busy watching Megan Fox gradually get less clothed and 100ft tall robots beat the clutch fluid out of each other to notice fashion.
You might have missed those bits in between you staring longingly at rugged men with CP Armour Chassis's and perfect hair while taking notes. Neeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeerd.

People in glass houses shouldn't throw nerds, Dex.

There is no moral high ground in an internet conversation about camo types as seen in the films Transformers 1 & 2.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,984 ✭✭✭NakedDex

You'll notice the only one to get actually hyped up about it was Masada. It's less a case of me trying to debate camo types with him as it is me successfully poking the bear and getting him to wax lyrical about the capabilities of his precious multicam.
You know Mac from Future Weapons wears it right? Oh, I'm sorry, of course you do. Everyone does. He's told everyone at least twice and he's changed the screensaver in the shop to various pictures of him in multicam.

Hang on... he seems to have a lot of images of strapping young men in multicam. Maybe the MC is just his excuse for looking at the wearers...

    Actually...

thats tonys puter, and tonys screen saver, my puter has a nice windows XP sunrise on it. :D

    F@1L and Pwn'T by Jill...

    shall we call this a Fwn'd? maybe a P@1L?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,984 ✭✭✭NakedDex

Since when has Tony changed that screen saver? I believe you were the only one anal enough to do so. Also, Doc is sitting in front of that perpetually now, so I wouldn't consider it Tony's jurisdiction anymore either.

The point remains, you've got a hard-on for multicam and it's no end of fun baiting you about it.

  • Banned (with Prison Access) Posts: 11,001 ✭✭✭✭Masada

haha, sorry, but fail again... no back tracking now,

I actually get kicks out of the multicam vs green sh1t agruement which always draws you in with a big high calibre post on the quantum physics of sight depth of field and contrasot ratio.,

    :D

    personally, i couldn't give a crap. I prefer me nam gear. :)

And once again (this is happening a lot lately) you're wrong. I actually much prefer plain old OD's. If you payed more attention to me instead of lusting after your toyboy, Mac, you might know this. YOU DIDN'T EVEN REMEMBER MY BIRTHDAY.

I feel like I need a shower now.........I feel so used...........

On one of my, sadly, frequent trip to Denny's last month (a loathsome place masquerading as a breakfast restaurant), I came across one of the Gardaí's experimental new squad cars.

Just wondering lads, when An Post say "ON ROUTE TO CUSTOMER" does that mean "In Transit" or actually "Out for Delivery". Just seems weird that it would come straight from portlaois to my gaff.

    Cheers,
    Lethal.
