While the title says it all, I don't want to hear a single "you bought a clone this is what you get!" reply, this gun has out preformed ever expectation I ever had of it, I expected this to happen ages ago, but it held out until todays skirmish to let me know it need a little love.

So whats happening? When I pull the trigger it makes a horrible noise and nothing happens. It started today (yesterday) at about 2 o'clock while I was getting rained on in G-Tac. It made more noise than usual but I didn't notice any drop in performance, I asked a guy in camo (because guys in proper camo know these things, somehow) what was up, I suspected the gears but with no visible drop in power I was confused. He told me it might be the rain, because there was lots of it, plus I had been rolling around in the wood not 30 mins beforehand.

I took him at his word and continued playing with it, until it stopped altogether. I finished the day with my side-arm, and went home to take it apart (for the first time) and dry it out.

    I did.

But, even with the mechbox in hand it wouldn't cycle, so I took that apart, and poked around and put it back together, attached the motor and tried it, but no, the horrid noise came again, took the motor out and saw the metal shavings, "Bugger...".

So now I'm wondering, can it be saved, or will I just get some new fancy gears?

I hear Systema are the best, but they are hellah expensive! (Cheapest
So were do you buy your gears?

    a) Moved to troubleshooting

    b) if your gears have been damaged you can chuck them in the bin and buy a new set, systema gears are very good, if you want to get some cheaper gears, the Element ones on rsov.com are pretty decent too, they are basically clones of the systema stuff

    c) the question is though, what caused your gears to go in the first place, if it was the bevel gear, then most likely your motor was not adjusted correctly and this caused premature wear of the gear, how does the pinion gear (on the motor) look, is this showing any signs of wear?

Check the bushings too just to be sure they aren't damaged. Reshimming the gears might be in order too.
