    Does anyone remember Poochie ?

My sister had one that she threw on the lamp next to her bed one night and it went on fire - the smell of it was gross. Poochie had a burnt head from that day on. Dont think we ever told the parents.

Does anyone remember the advertising tune...

"Oh your ears are pink and your paws are too,
look at all the things we've got for you
    Poochie, oh Poochie"

I didn't have Poochie, my sister and I had these fellas..

You forgot the last line --

Poochie poo, oh my little poochie.

Aw, Poochie was lovely. Was it a girl or a boy? I always meant to ask for one for my birthday or Christmas, but never got round to it. It was one of those toys that was very much of its time. I mean Barbie is still going, I think My Little Pony is, but back then, along with Poochie, there was a bunch of products that will forever be associated with the 80s and I doubt they'd be brought back:
    - Rainbow Brite
    - The Getalong Gang (they had skates - the absolute biz)
    - Popples (they were soft toys that could turn into furry, bouncy balls - behave down the back!)
    - Victoria Plum (is there anything that little chick wouldn't endorse?!)
    - Holly Hobby (very early 80s, in fact 70s)
    - Jem (she kicked Rockstar Barbie's ass!)
    - Sylvanian Families (there were cheapo versions of them too - Forest Families and some other bunch as well)
    - Tiny Tears (cried, drank her bottle, wet herself)
    - The original Sindy (not as glamorous as Barbie, but she had great taste in furnishings!)
    - Cabbage Patch Dolls (THE toy of 1983. I was never interested in them though, even though I was the right age)
    - Care Bears I suppose were really only belonging to the 80s (maybe early 90s) but they were massively successful.
Finally, there were these soft toys which were hybrids of different animals - e.g. a half-lion, half-donkey creature. Sounds like a Dr Moreau-type horror but they were cute. They had their own cartoon and comic (as did most of those toys). Can't remember for the life of me what they were called. Anyone remember?
