    Lads,

15 or so of us are looking into going on a stag to Pamoplona Spain for the running of the bulls in July next year. Was wondering if anyone had gone before, how they went and some deatils maybe of a travel agent who might be able to help us out?

    Cheers

    Derek.

Derek, You could fly into Bilbao via Aer Lingus and then catch a bus from Bilbao to Pamplona. Aer Lingus fly three times a week from Dublin to Bilbao. It will be difficult to get accomodation for that week so make sure you book anything very very early. The Fiesta starts on the 6th of July. Let me know if you need anymore information as I am based in the area and maybe can give you some tips.

    Hiya Derek

Me and 4 of my buddies have been to Pamplona for the last 4 years running. We usually fly Cork to London to Bilbao and get the people at www.pamplonahousing.com to come and collect us and bring us to Pamplona. They are very reasonable and drop you right to the door.

Otherwise we fly Cork to London to Vitoria and just hop on the public bus.

Accommodation is the main issue, hotels are just ridiculous and the campsites are 20 Km away from the city. What we do is trawl forums on the web and people in pamplona rent out their apartments etc for people coming over, anywhere between 50 and 100 euro per night per person which does the job fine!!

The San fermin Festival is unbelievable, the actual running of the bulls is only a small part, the party that takes place 24 hours a day is just unbelievable and very hard to explain to someone who hasnt been there. Its unbelievably wild and anything goes, I have a couple of videos on you tube, my profile name is darrand.

The only thing is that a gang of 15 people will be very hard to keep track of,,the potential for losing someone,,well basically you will and the goring potential is quite high too if theres gonna be a big gang having the craic and not watching out...

Just pm me for any info

Hey, old enuf thread but anway. I wanna go to the running of the bulls this year to start off our interrailing trip and i hear i would have to be 18 to take part. Im seventeen and i was just wondering how strict they are on this and is there any chance of taking part.

A few mates of mine went and they didn't say anything about age checks for the runs.

I turned up in the middle of it with nothing booked and pitched a tent in the campsite outside the city....buses run to and from pamplona all day. The campsite had all you need toilets, shop, bar, pool etc and the weather was scorching so it was perfect.

I's a pretty unreal festival really. When you go in the morning for the daily run there are people lying on the streets from the night before and the stink of booze and p**s is unreal. Complete madness!
