Strange eye problem: help needed

When walking around, be it indoors in lets say a shopping centre or outdoors on a street, my eyes regularly become watery and my sight becomes impaired as a result. Has anyone come across this or something similar. It's not a sight threatening condition I'm sure but it does impact my ability to move around comfortably and confidently without stopping every so often to dry my eyes or focus my sight.

I'd visit an optician. Your tear ducts seem to be overproducing water.
    Do you wear contacts ?

Thanks for reply, felt kinda silly posting this originally but its SO irritating! No, I have 20/20 vision. I had considered visiting my local specsavers but I didn't think that it would be taken seriously. The problem escalates when moving quickly or wheres theres air conditiong/fans.

There's no reason why your local Specsavers, or any opticians for that matter, wouldn't take you seriously, they all have trained opthamologists in the store. You could also go to your GP is you'd prefer.

well then id go to a gp and he may refer you to an eye specialist if he thinks it warrants that.
An optician could also look at it but I wouldnt go to specsavers - but seen as you have perfect vision a gp might be best.
It happened a friend of mine, she was referred to a specialist in the eye and ear and she will have to have a small op on it. She didnt get that done yet though.

But would an optician be a better option in terms of price. Not to sound like a cheap-ass with wrong priorities but I'm a student on a tight budget. Would ye be of the opinion that an optician would be willing to give free impartial advice about my problem or is the set-up in lets say specsavers somewhat the same re: appointments only, etc. etc. And if you are in agreement with the later, what optician would you personally recommend.

I would assume youd need an apointment and youd have to pay
Call Specsavers and ask for advice over the phone first or just try an independent optician. Id prefer an independend one. I find some of the specsavers in dublin are very impersonal and very in and out and sales orientated.

are u a third level student ? does your college not have a free gp attached to it ?

Ya, I hear ya. I always thought they'd be kinda like my local "pharmacy", helpful and friendly. I might try the independant or phone call. Yes, Im 3rd level but my past dealings with the campus GP wasn't great, not very helpful to put it nicely. Cheerz

Regarding the above moderator notice: no worries, I read the rules and am only hear to find out where to seek help, not actual help persay. And in response to "smirkingmaurice" I too haven't ruled that out, either way theres always a reason. I must really call up about it soon though, always put things to one side until the next time they pop up, bad habit to have, especially the problem in question, which is a pretty much daily occurence.
