Just wondering what ye all think about people like Marvais Frazier and people like that who try to follow the glorious path of their fore-father's ??

Just looking at Demetrius Hopkins whoi is on the Guzman undercard later ,...now he's a nephew afaik of the legend Bernard,
I dont think any of them ever reach the heights they aspire to .... but they are boxing only off the backs of their relations carerrs.

take that Matt hatton, bobby Pacquiao , and the likes, always on the tv undercards, but are they worthy ?

Bobby Pacquiao is a very good and dangerous fighter worthy(and exciting enough) to be on undercards . Matthew Hatton isn't really(if he's high up the bill) but if his fight is one of the low key ones there's nothing wrong with that as he's British title challenger level .

You say people never reach the height of their fathers , uncles etc but that's usually because people like Joe Frazier , Bernard Hopkins are legends the likelyhood that someone could achieve what they have despite good genes is very slim . You do have plenty of cases for brothers of high quality though(Marquez ,Klitschko brothers etc) .

Anyway for every failed son of a legend there is 5 legends of a failed father .

    True,.. true.
The father -son trainer relationship always intriuges me though.
the mayweather duo was like a soap-opera, but then you got enzo and joe calzaghe, who are great together.
Mosley sacked his father at one stage , and returned then and i was delighted.
so did roy jones jnr, apparently his father was quite cruel to roy when he trained him as a kid.

all in all, there seem to be a proportionaly high number of Father - son relationships that are successful in boxing.
