    Hi all,

I currently have a Honda Nsr. I've noticed, well over the last month or two, everytime i pulll up to traffic lights and if i go into neutral then back into first and drive off it slips back into neutral.

Just incase any1 is unclear here's an example
Pull up to lights, change to neutral. Leave out clutch. Clutch in and into first gear to drive off. Drives for a few seconds, then slips back into neutral.

I think my bike is still under warranty, or else it's out on the 17th of this month... Any help what so ever is welcome

    Thanks,
    LM

Have a look at the clutch cable and make sure it's taught enough.

what I mean is - if it is slack - and you pull the lever, you may only be pulling the clutch mechanism 1/3 of the way and it jumps back out again when you start off.

there should be a cable adjust at the clutch lever. try tighten it (but not so it's too tight).

    see how that goes.

Are you sure it's actually going into first properly? Does it happen with any other gears? If it's under warrenty bring it back now.

NO it's just in first. What i noticed even was, say if i stopped, and went into neutral. Then to go, i went into first, but didn't leave out the clutch fully as i was stopping again(.ie traffic). The bike would stay in the first time, but then when i go to pick up speed it would slip out. Very annoyin when i am takin out and it slips into neutral and revs like mad... I'll have a look at the clutch cable thanks, karltimber

It sounds like a problem with the gear box. They shouldn't slip into neutral as you describe unless there's something worn. Once you're sure it is engaging first correctly you should leave it in to get checked.

The fella i bought it off has a record for fixing it, but something else always, coincidently, goes wrong with the bike. Resulting in it being brought back again. I might just take it to a mechanic i know today.

    Thanks lads,
    LM
