I am looking for reccommendations regarding a PCMCIA to USB adapter or similar for my laptop.

My laptop has an Express card only I think. It doesn't have a slot where I can plug in a PCMCIA card from an external sound box.

    Any help or advice?

    Thanks!!

Not to be smart but if you do not have a PCMCIA slot you wil have to use the USB won't you? I do not know what an express card is? I have a PCMCIA slot and use that but was told I could also use a USB adapter. USB seems as good as PCMCIA to me but I amnot expert
Hope this may help a little, sorry don't know more

Is something like this what you're looking for?

Thanks. I don't think my post was clear.

The above is very similar to what I want except that it is not an express to USB adapter that I want. Im looking for a PCMCIA to USB adapter.

My laptop has an express slot (I think that is what it is called anyway) but I have an external sound box that needs a PCMCIA slot which I do n't have so I need some kind of adapter that I can fit in my PCMCIA connection into ie an external PCMCIA card I suppose.

    Thanks.

Hmmm! I think you are phrasing it wrong? When you say your looking for a PCMCIA to USB it would imply that you want to convert a PCMCIA slot to be able to take a USB device.

Are we getting any closer with something like this?

You are now after posting that link but your original post should have said "USB to PCMCIA" & not the other way round.

    i am not the op...

if you read what he said,
my laptop has an Express card only I think. It doesn't have a slot where I can plug in a PCMCIA card.

i think its faily obvious what he is looking for, whether he knows what its called or not is hardly relevant
