Hi. I am looking to get a new laptop for Christmas, I've had a Sony laptop for the last 4 yrs, but its getting really old and its time for an upgrade. Can anyone advise me in the way of a good fast laptop, with a good size hard drive, and thats not too expensive.
    Thanks in advance,
    Patrick

Have a read of the sticky above "how to get help on this forum". If you provide us with the information in that sticky, it will make it easier for us recommend one for you.

Well, I'm willing to spend between 600-800, I use it for almost everything, converting movies, word, the net, games, etc, so something pretty reliable and quick. At least 1GB of ram, or even 2GB. It doesn't have to be to small, I don't mind the size, as this one is quiet big. Also in your opinion, vista or XP?
0h and one with a good battery life, this one lasts 1h 30mins even when its idle
