Sky rang me to offer Sports + Movies at half price for 3 months.
Sports alone is 14 a month
    Movies and Sports - 19 a month

    Anybody else get this offer?

I rang SKY to see what offers they had for existing customers as my contract is sue to end soon. They offered me the same deal as that, and it's the same offer for new customers.

They werent able to give me a straight answer as to whether taking this offer would tie me into another 12 month contract or not.

The agent on phone said there will be more deals/offers coming up to Christmas.

offer on their website for new customers

    http://www.sky.com/portal/site/ireland/offers
Half price Sky TV for your first 3 months
Join Sky TV before 15 December and get your first 3 months’ viewing for half the usual price. All you have to do is add 2 or more of our Movies and Sports channels to your chosen package. That includes free standard equipment and all you have to pay is €45 for standard installation.

Plus, if you join online you’ll get a €15 credit onto your Sky account.
Once the offer period ends, packages start from €20-€68 a month. And you can change your package any time after the offer period.
Whichever package you choose, you’ll also get our special Bonus Mix. So, you can enjoy all your favourite terrestrial channels like RTE One, RTE Two, BBC One, BBC Two and Channel 4.

They didn't offer me half price on the mixes - only the premium stuff.

Actually my contract is nearing 12 months too - they didn't say anything about an extended contract though

Is there a dedicated number for the call centre down in Cork or is it just pot luck that you get them rather than the English/Indian/Scottish ones?

i think its only if you pick a sales option that you get the cork office, well certainly seems to be that way for me. Also, any complaints seem to go direct to india

I cancelled both movie options + half the sports back in August when I sub'd to Setanta. Got a letter from Sky a few weeks back offering me the rest of the sports channels free for 4 months. Have until this day next week to take up the offer which I will be doing - was prolonging taking them up on it as I knew I wouldn't miss any matches I wanted to see between then & now.

didnt think they did any offers for ex customers anymore. i have availed of a few of them to come back but none of them have been around in the last few months. when the offer was up i usually just took sky sports 1 and 4 mixes for a few months till the summer came and cancelled. it wasnt bad value for 43 euro but they took sky sports 3 out of it so now you only get sky sports 1.

I presume that Sky will only offer existing customers half price Movies or Sports if they currently dont have either on their package.

Just off the phone after upgrading to the full package. Im on the €30 mix at present and upgraded to full package @1/2 price for 3 months. He told me that they charge 1 month in advance and that i would be paying €68 in January. Any one know what happens to the extra €34 that i will have paid when i cancel at the end of Feb? Will my A/C be in credit?

    X.

I got two calls from them as well, same deal. Told them no thanks but would be more interested in a Sky HD offer.
