After this thread in Bargain Alerts Kaspersky Discount I decided to purchase as I have been looking for a new anti-virus program and the deal looked great so I purchased.

Now my question. I had to remove Zone Alarm as Kaspersky does not work with it. However I only purchased the Anti-Virus licence and not the Internet Suite licence. Now I feel that I dont have an active firewall?. I like when Zone Alarm asked you for permission etc...

Did I make a blunder or will the program I got do both firewall and anti-virus??

    Will this work alongside Kapersky?

Rang Kaspersky and they are going to give a refund so I will purchase the correct package this time round! :D

    Cheers

Comodo has an RC1 of Comodo Firewall 3 available which works without any problems with Kasperski 7 , you just have to sign up to the comodo forums to download it
https://forums.comodo.com ,I did however install the comodo firewall first before i installed the kasperski 7 antivirus .

Kaspersky AntiVirus 6 was a partial firewall so it will cause problems with all full firewalls like ZoneAlarm but not the Windows XP firewall. I switched to the Kaspersky Internet Security (inc. firewall) so check on the forums at www.kaspersky.com

Kaspersky Internet Security version 7 is not a partial firewall. Runs smoother than 6, and updates without having to lower your firewall settings (an improvement over 6). No probs with Vista either, unlike some security packages out there. Beats Norton, McAfee, and Trend Micro IMO (I've used all three before without satisfaction).

I didn't say that KIS is partial firewall, obviously KIS caters for antivirus, anti-spam, anti-spyware and firewall. I'm don't know about KAV 7 but the previous versions of the Kaspersky antivirus (not the suite) had a partial firewall which crashed most firewalls except the windows firewall.
