I'll throw The Eglinton in there. Nice place to play if nothing else. Is B&M only or is it online as well?

that little place upstairs in Clonmel, Bigslick knows what the name of it is but it is possibly my favourite place to play in the world. God knows what I'd think of it if I'd won there.

    CHL's

Ah yes so I'll go with the Fitz. Jackpot is to small and same for CHL and I refuse to give my fingerprints to sign up to a casino so i've never being inside SE

At last count CHL had more poker tables than any of the other three.

Tis the size of the rooms that make it feel cramped. Fitz is nice and open planned. Although I won't be voting for it, it does deserve a mention. Nothing standing out for me in this category.

The Fitz is terrible. Though it'd be fairly obvious I'd nominate the Jackpot for atmosphere alone.

What's so bad about it? I think Denise does a good job and Marq when is on hand. Also the dealers can be a bit of craic unlike the drones they have in the Jackpot.

Se I suppose but dont like the way it can close randomly for some corporate function.

Actually jackpot is my nomination-atmosphere-messiness-sickos-some good morning games-and a decent toasted ham and sandwich.

Agree with jbravado but not for the toasties reason... I don't like the Fitz for purely personal taste reasons. I don't like the atmosphere, I don't like the tournaments (the R/E is ok). Nothing against Denise or Marq, I think they are doing the best they can in a room that, frankly, is devoid a any sort of friendly atmosphere. The Fitz doesn't seem to know what it wants to be.

The Jackpot is the friendly, informal cardroom; the SE is the fancy up-market (for want of a better term) cardroom and the Fitz looks like the decor from a fermica-age pub in the back arse of nowhere. I started in the Fitz like so many but frankly I just never ever feel comfortable there.

The Cue Club, if i had a club it would look like this one (i'd like to think). Hope to visit it again in January.

Visited both the Fitz and Luke's place last night and still like them both.

One thing i would do (this applies to all clubs, not just the above) is ban tracksuits and swearing, i know its a difficult balance but many potential weekend players have no interest in spending hours with people who want to look or act like white trash (here endeth the rant).

Silks. They had guarenteed tournaments and a blinding outdoor barbeque.

Also, Please keep any this place is better than that place bickering out of this thread as it is not the place for it. Regulars are regulars because they prefer one place over another for a reason. Just because one person finds one place cramped/unfriendly or whatever, doesn't mean loads of other people don't feel comfortable there.

This is a nomination thread, not a bitching thread.

You will not be able to create a poll with more than 10 options Ste, you will have to get Laf to do it, or to add in more options later, which would be less fair on those options.

Damn, I didn't count how many there were, I thought it was still under 10. I'll just create the thread and let Laf throw up the poll when he's about,
