I'm sorry I don't meet your high standards eth0_. But I won't apologise for having different priorities than you.

Oh my god, are you actually a grown up? Your current project is boring, you're not working with your friends and you have to eat on your own??

Why don't you try and make friends with the people on your team - chances are you will get on with at least one of them. It will look dreadful if you leave a job after a week or two and I don't know how you can judge the job after one week.

Well, for a start, being so specific about your workplace, when you began, etc and then saying you're thinking of quitting is really dumb. Plenty of people in your company read boards, and I doubt it would be hard to figure out who you are based on the info you gave.

Besides that, the only way to find out whether this new proposal is going to be any good is to find out as much as you can. You have a stable job at the moment, so you don't need to be afraid of asking detailed questions about the new offer (which you might be nervous about if you needed the job).

I personally wouldn't stay in a job I wasn't happy with, if I could avoid it (life's too short to waste it away in a cubicle).

I'll give you one bit of advice, get the f**k out of testing. You’re never going to be doing anything interesting.

It sounds like you just took the first job that was offered to you, or the job that pays the most money. Bad idea. Make sure you think it will be right for you. Thats why when they say in the interview do you have any questions thats when you ask about the enviroment. What kind of projects will I be working on? How many people will I be working with? With are the ages/experience levels of the people I will be working at? Do you have a social/sports fund? and so on.

Oh and everyone has this idea that they will find a job that they love. They love the work and the people and the hours and the pay. Unfortunately this isn't something that just appears. Everyone goes through their crap jobs before finding a good one that they are happy in.

So in a nut shell stay in your current job for now(we all have bills), get back on the job hunt, and dont just settle for the first job you are offered.

If you think it is easy / not challenging to release near perfect software, than you are simply a bad tester and not suited to that profession. Most people are bad testers.

To have your mind made up about your FIRST job after only one week is not a good sign.

What did you think working in IT was like? IT is not an exciting industry. It's full of disgruntled people working silently in cubicles. Some places are better than others, but IT is not full of friendly, happy people. This is something you'll just have to accept.

There are plenty of people who will never find their dream job and will just have to settle for what they can get - that's life. Look at all the people working ****ty jobs - that's hardly what they dreamed of when they were younger. But they just get on with it.
I can't get my dream job so I'll go with whatever else is suitable for my abilities. Once you accept that, it makes life a little bit easier.

Not a great post especially coming from a supposed moderater of this forum. I'd report it but wouldn't I just be reporting it to you?

    Considering the OPs response:

I'd say eth0 was to lenient in his comment if anything. Welcome to life where you know, you actually have to work and do boring stuff to get paid. Guess the change from college was a big shock in this case.

TBH, having read the original, non-edited post, I have to say the OP doesn't seem to realise that what he's experiencing is pretty much the real world. This is how it is...

I didn't say anything that warrants moderation. I questioned the OP's maturity because clearly he's lacking in any, because he is acting like a baby.
Boo hoo, your job isn't scintillatingly interesting every day - welcome to the real world, tbh :)

I think that the OP saw the light …………. as she/he edited the post after a period of reflection.

Didn’t see anything wrong in Etho’s response to it either. It was legitimate advice.
