4 or 5, sometimes 6 if theres plenty of juicy tables. find it hard to keep up with anymore than that

can fairly easily play 4 non-turbo tables but find it quite robotic, so i prefer to just play 2 turbo tables

6-10 depending on my mood and how many good tables are available.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,537 ✭✭✭Ste05

4-6 just because my screen resolution on my Laptop isn't great and has overlap with even 4 so any more than 6 and it is just completely unmanageable.

One day I might buy a decent monitor/new laptop to play 8+ but I couldn't be bothered at the moment.

    6-8

I play 4. I might consider going to 6 on ipoker thanks to lower hand rate but like ste my screen resolution is too small on my laptop and overlap with 4 annoys me enough as it is.

At the moment i'm playing on crypto which is pretty dead so I always play as many tables as I can its usually four and I never go past six tables.

When I do play online, it is usually 3 Omaha tables. I tried 4 a few times, but I'm not used to it,a nd Omaha takes a bit more thinking usually as well I find.

6 tables of 6max PLO, 8 tables if I feel determined. I usually break even :/
Sessions never longer than an hour or so.

Nearly always have 4 going casue thats all i can fit on my laptop. The aim is to be able to play 10 as soon as i can.I taught it would be hard but with about 3 days practise you can do it easy.

6 tables on my laptop at 1920x1200 res. leaves a slight overlap. Cant wait to buy some new LCDs in Oz and get more tables in.

have played 16 table madness like a nit at 12/7 for a month to see if I could make a killing on rakeback and rake race... I did but nearly fried my brain at 72k hands that month!

Now I play 4-8 depending on the games as I've opened up my game of late... I can play 4 tales at 28/25 no problem but when i play 8 I'm more like 22/18 with 6 been a nice happy medium :)

Just wondering if playing multiple tables becomes easier over time? Is it an acquired skill? I don't play online regularly and i find that my decision-making ability starts to suffer if I open up even a second table.

I play two but if I doubled my bankroll I could play four.

Same laptop res as that, I have to stick out 2 ipoker tables a bit to each side to avoid overlap and then usually stick 1 or 2 in the middle. So usually 5/6 sometimes 4 if there are some tricky players on my tables

2 tables of 6max PLO, i dont enjoy it otherwise. Sometime ill play a tournament at the same time.

Have played up to 8 however feel the fun is taken out of it and its more of a "Robotic Chore".

Now tend to have 2 tourneys on the go at once whilst doing something else online eg. reading on wikipedia, bbc, etc...

yeah it does get much easier over time.... I started with 2 tables and worked it up from there....

I now find 4 boring and always looking to add more... I always like a reason to be at a table and if it doesn't have a fish I'm not playing it so sometimes it's difficult to get enough "good"tables"

I play between 3 - 5, most of the time I play 4, the number of tables that most comfortably fit on my desktop and laptop screens. I should try more on my desktop's 20" LCD, I have a feeling 6 resizable tables would be ok. I can't concentrate properly on any tables I can't see, so cascading tables is out and so the number I can play is limited by my screen.

Like most things, the more you practice it the easier it becomes.

Also what site you play on and which format you play has an impact. Most sites now have re-sizable tables and pop up when it's your turn. This obviously has an advantage over those that don't.

MTTs are probably the easiest format for most people to muti-table IMO especially if you are playing a traditional TAG style, as early on you should be having fewer tougher decissions, and as you get deeper in some tourneys you will be knocked out of others.

SNGs are probably a close 2nd if you have all your ICM homework done and know your push/fold ranges. Again it helps if you stick to traditional SNG strategy of tight early then all-in or fold late. The reason why it's better to keep to this style (and TAG in MTTS) when you multitable, is that you should be faced with pretty obvious decissions for the most part. That's easier to deal with as your infomation on your opponents will not be as complete as if you only have 1 table to focus on.

Cash is a little tougher as there should be a lot more decissions to make, mainly because you will usually be deeper stacked. Also as you go up in levels more opponents will adapt to your style unless you change up your game a bit, and knowing when to do this is easier to spot if you are concentrating on fewer things.

9 mini tables at the moment on ipoker, dont think i could play any more than that without making alot of rushed/bad decisions

I played 16 mini-tables for two hours yesterday (previous max was 12) and christ, it is not a good experience. How the hell you managed it for a month is beyond me but after 2 hours I felt dizzy and vowed to never do it again. So sick.

Generally play between 6-8 but I've been playing ridiculously badly lately so when I get back into it I'll probably stay on 4 for a while 'til I'm happier with how things are going. 8 tabling turned my decisions a bit robotic and I was relying too heavily on stats.

I'm working my way up, only on 3 at the moment, I actually find I play alot better with 3 than with less, so I'm gonna start 4 very soon now I've pahud it should make it alot easier.

If i'm playing cash, i play 4 cash games max and just throwin 1 or 2 MTTs

If i'm just playing MTTs, i open up Stars, GJP, Party and just register for a sh1tload of tournaments. If i'm running good, i nearly always have 10+ on the go and the max i got up one week was 18. I stopped doing that though when i shipped it allin PF with AK in the first hand of $10 rebuy and rebought when i ran into Aces. Unfortunately it was a $360 rebuy.

I try to limit it to 10-12 max now

Used to be always 2 but am playing 4 sometimes now. I think it may be the way forward. No more than that, Thank you.

I have only ever managed to play two at a time. I find if I try and do any more I just make stupid mistakes. Most of the time I play one table SnG, but ventured to playing two on cash tables.
